Tenerife Overview
It's easy to understand why Tenerife is one of the most popular islands in the Canaries. There are beautiful beaches at nearly every resort, ranging from volcanic black coastlines to ones with golden sand shipped in from the Sahara desert. Out to sea, the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean have an amazing array of sea life, and you can even take a boat trip to go whale and dolphin watching. As Tenerife has had lots of tourists for many years now, it's also built up an entire network of attractions including huge zoos, lush botanical gardens and outdoor swimming pools. Nightlife is a big draw for many with some of the streets literally lined with bars and clubs, while the restaurants in Tenerife offer a good mix of classic British fare and authentic Spanish dishes.
